Heyyyyyyy!!! Comin’ to you from Milwaukee, Wisconsin! The site is live and ready for action. WordCamp Milwaukee will be taking place on September 17 & 18 this year and we’re really excited!
Over the next few days we’ll be putting more details, but I wanted to take just a moment to thank a couple of people before things REALLY get busy. As you might have noticed, the theme this year is a 50s Milwaukee. We thought it would be fun to pay tribute to the old TV shows like Happy Days and LaVerne & Shirley, two iconic shows from just a few years ago. The site was put together on pretty short order by Jamie Schmid, a displaced Milwaukee native, and Emma Edgar from Tuna Traffic. They took the concept and knocked it out of the park. There are still a few details that need to be wrapped up but we wanted to get the functionality live right away (one of those things designers hate, as I understand). So, THANK YOU Jamie and Emma for the hard work.
Just a few things to add: The Call to Speakers is open. If you are interested in presenting, please be sure to get your application in by August 22. We’re interested in all topics related to WordPress, or Business & Marketing in general.
If you are interested in helping the organizing committee, or volunteering on WordCamp weekend, check this page out and register.
Tickets are available here. $40.00 for the weekends gets you two full days of filling your head with important information, lots of socializing and networking opportunities and the after party. It’s a steal at twice the price!
And lastly, if you are interested in sponsoring WordCamp Milwaukee, check this out. WordCamps would not happen if it wasn’t for sponsors. Ok – they might, but the tickets would be a lot more expensive. We’ll give you table space and all sorts of other perks to go with it (like lots of recognition and gratitude, and who in their right mind wouldn’t want to turn that down?).
Lastly lastly, if you run into any problems, let us know! Shoot us an email and we’ll get you squared away, right away, daddy-o!
So, without further adieu, LET’S GET THIS THING STARTED!
